About The Scholarship

THE VILLAGE SCHOLARSHIP:

Eligibility 

• Applicants must identify as Black or Latinx/Hispanic

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have secured admission to a participating private school.

• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

• Applicants must be well versed in the PSV mission and if selected, commit to participating in PSV activities, programs and events

 

Application Requirements 

• Completed online application 

• Supporting documents 

• Participate in an interview process (if granted by the selection committee)

• Submit proof of current private school financial aid offer

Application Timeline 

• For renewal families: Applications open January 16 and close February 5, 2024

• For new applicant families: Applications open January 16 and close February 16, 2024

• Scholarship award notification: Amounts awarded will be informed and verified after schools disseminate their acceptance letters and financial aid packages

Selection Process

• PSV partnered with a third-party agency AWA Consults, for the design, evaluation and awarding process to ensure privacy, objectivity and transparency when reviewing and selecting candidates. We have also engaged Researcher, Writer and Wealth Activist Chloe B. McKenzie to ensure an equitable process. Applicants shall be selected according to a combination of financial need, completed application and interview, and alignment with PSV’s values. 

 

Award Details  

• Roughly 4 scholarships for up to $10,000 each to cover partial tuition (pilot year) 

• Disbursement will be made directly to the school and at the discretion of the family
