Somos PSV is deeply important to me and my family as it provides crucial support, community and representation. It’s a place where we find strength in shared experiences, cultural pride, and a network of people who truly understand our needs. The resources, guidance, and sense of belonging Somos PSV offers have been beneficial for us, making challenges easier for us to navigate. I am passionate about sharing the work I do within The Country School DEIB PA Board and The Archer Alumni Board because I believe in the power of uplifting others. Through Somos PSV, I can connect, empower, and advocate for people who may be facing similar challenges. Representing our culture and values in these networks is essential to creating spaces where we all feel seen and heard. By sharing my experiences, I hope to inspire and create opportunities for others to thrive within their communities.

Hi! My name is Annelyne. I have an 8th grader at Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena. As a parent, I joined Somos PSV because I wanted to be part of something that truly reflects who we are — a diverse, vibrant community. For me, it’s about building real connections, making sure every family feels seen and heard, and celebrating the culture that brings us together. Being part of Somos PSV has given me a sense of belonging and a chance to stand alongside others who care deeply about inclusion, pride, and lifting up every voice.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I carry my Latin heritage with pride and heart. I’m a deeply community-oriented parent at Westside Neighborhood School, where I support SOMOS WNS families, help organize events, and foster meaningful connections. Equally devoted to my own family life, I treasure raising my three children, encouraging their passions in sports, arts, and education, and honoring the love and traditions that keep our family close. I’m passionate about human rights, inclusion, and building spaces where people feel supported and connected.

Elvia Gonzalez is a dedicated parent and active member of the Oakwood School community. She has two children - William, who is currently a sophomore, and Christian, who recently graduated from Oakwood and is now in college. Elvia is deeply invested in the success, well-being, and representation of all students and families. Her “why” is rooted in a strong commitment to family, culture, and community. She believes in the power of connection and the importance of building strong relationships between Brown and Black families across private schools - relationships that foster shared experience, mutual support, and collective strength. This passion led her to join Somos PSV, a space that amplifies Latino voices and builds bridges between families, schools, and leadership. Through her involvement in Somos PSV, Elvia hopes to contribute to a united, culturally grounded, and supportive community for all families.

Janett Hermosillo Meyer is a proud mom of two, with children in 8th grade at The Wesley School and 9th grade at Loyola High School. Now in her third year as a Board of Trustee member at The Wesley School, she is passionate about building strong connections within her school communities and ensuring families feel supported, seen, and celebrated. Janett attended UCLA and brings more than 20 years of experience in television entertainment news, having worked as a producer, reporter, and host for major networks including Telemundo, E! News, LATV, and MTV. Her professional journey has given her a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling, representation, and creating spaces where diverse voices are valued. Janett joins Somos PSV for her children and the greater community they are a part of. She believes deeply in the importance of celebrating Latino culture, while also championing education, inclusion, and diversity. For her, Somos PSV represents an opportunity to work alongside families who share the same vision and to honor our heritage and empower students to be proud of who they are.

I have a B.A. in Political Science from California State University of Northridge. I am a Regional Sales Manager in Los Angeles County, where I help businesses execute their business plans and maximize their profitability with our products and services. My wife, Gina, and I have four amazing children who attend private schools in the San Fernando Valley. For the past two years, we have been Somos PSV Ambassador for Westmark School. Being a Somos PSV Ambassador has been wonderful and having a community with shared experiences at different private schools has been great for my family. I am very grateful to be a part of this community and the Somos PSV Advisory Group. It is my hope and aspiration to strengthen our connection through Somos PSV and create a foundation that will last beyond my tenure here at Somos PSV.

I am the Director of Admission at Oakwood School. Before joining Oakwood, I spent over nine years at the Independent School Alliance for Minority Affairs, where I supported families of color in navigating the independent school admissions process. Those years deepened my commitment to fostering belonging for parents and students in independent schools. I believe families should feel comfortable being themselves and confident they are supported both inside and outside of school. As a Latino and longtime member of the independent school world—with 20 years of experience and now a nephew who is a student—I remain dedicated to building connections, fostering belonging, and uplifting families so that they feel fully supported on their educational journeys.

Greg is a father of two boys and an educator, teaching Architecture at Pasadena City College (PCC). He leads the PCC Architecture department as coordinator and is a tenured faculty member. At PCC, Greg aims to provide a liberatory education to his students through opportunities such as Pedagogical Advancement through Collaboration of Teachers and Students (PACTS). PACTS pairs Teachers with Black and Latine student-leaders to review course materials, classroom management, and student-teacher interaction. He is currently part of a cohort of faculty applying for the Open For Anti-Racism grant, which will train the cohort on implementing low/no-cost Anti-Racism resources in online teaching. Greg’s eldest son is in the second grade at John Thomas Dye (JTD) School, with his youngest currently applying for Kindergarten. Greg has been a Somos PSV Parent Ambassador for JTD since his family joined the school in 2023. Somos PSV has been a beacon for community building. Through the organization, Greg and his sons have made connections across schools. PSV and Somos PSV provide access to resources, contacts, support, and community that go beyond what any one school can provide. Somos PSV instills a hope for a more diverse and inclusive Private School community.
