We are thrilled to share some exciting news about the upcoming 2025–2026 PSV Grade-Level Social Pod Program—our beloved Social Pods are getting a glow-up!
This year, our low-cost, PreK-8th grade racial socialization program will be organized by cohorts: consistent groups where families commit to the full season of events at the beginning of the school year. By signing up and committing to participate earlier, your child will see familiar faces at every gathering, helping them build friendships, strengthen their racial socialization, grow their racial literacy in a safe, joyful space, and it will help PSV create stronger programming because we know set participant numbers.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! We’ve teamed up with Crown Me, many in PSV’s beloved educational camp provider, who will lead all pod activities and bring their signature energy and structure to our gatherings. Families can look forward to culturally responsive games, creative challenges, and meaningful moments designed to empower and inspire students.​​
Why This Matters...
At PSV, we know that healthy human development can’t be compartmentalized. To truly thrive, our children need to experience racial socialization not only at home or in the community, but also as an integrated part of their private school journey. Research dating back to the 1990s emphasizes the importance and power of cross-school racial socialization—students build stronger identities, deeper resilience, and lasting connections when they engage in these experiences together.
Providing these opportunities outside of schools is meaningful, but tethering them directly to the private school experience makes the impact even greater. There is no better way to nurture our children’s growth than to bring them together in joyful, intentional community across schools.

How Could School Affinity Programs Use This?

Use PSV Social Pod events to strengthen or supplement (affinity group) programming; encourage students (especially affinity group participants) to sign up
