For many families, affording private education isn’t a one-time challenge—it’s something that simply exists because private school is expensive, but affordability can also become an issue over time.

Financial aid awards often stay the same, even when life changes. A small raise that doesn’t cover rising costs. A new caregiving responsibility. A medical bill. Unexpected expenses. Slowly, the gap between what a school can offer and what a family can truly afford gets wider.

The Village Scholarship exists to close that gap.
Since the program began, we’ve provided $343,000 in supplemental tuition support to 14 elementary students across nine independent partner schools. This funding works alongside school-based financial aid to make tuition truly affordable—helping students stay in the classrooms where they are learning, growing, and belonging.
The need is ongoing, and it starts early.
Elementary families are often the least supported in private education, yet these early years are foundational. Without continued assistance, even families doing everything right can be priced out over time.

This work is only possible because of collective generosity. Every gift matters. When more people give what they can, we can step in before a financial strain becomes a breaking point—support more families, and keep opportunity within reach.

Give what you can.
Help sustain a student’s education.
Help make affordability possible—even when life changes.

Dear PSV Friends,
Our gatherings have set a vibrant tone for another impactful year — one rooted in connection, purpose, and joy.

PSV is more than an organization — it's home. A home where families belong immediately, our children are affirmed, and school communities are strengthened with care and intention (impacting all students). In a world where consistency, inclusion, and belonging are too often at risk, PSV stands as a refuge — a place to exhale, be seen, and centered.
You Keep Our Home Strong
Every dollar directly contributes to:
-
Scholarships: $340,000 committed since 2024 for 14 Village Scholars from low-income households in LA/Pasadena.
-
Inspiring Voices: Speakers like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Rosetta Lee, and Elizabeth Pryor strengthen community advancement.
-
Transformative Learning: Decolonized Black History courses and mental health workshops with The Steve Fund fill urgent gaps.
-
Identity-Affirming Initiatives: The High School Leadership Program & Grade-Level Social Pods foster learning and vital connections.
-
Community Gatherings: Joyful events -- back-to-school picnics, Sneaker Soirees, socials -- nurture lasting relationships and shared purpose.
Rising tuition, lasting pandemic impacts, and growing challenges for identity-based organizations make our mission more urgent than ever. While ticket sales and school partnerships help, they don’t cover the cost of our programs—making your donations essential to ensuring we can continue to make a difference.
We invite you to make a tax-deductible donation today to sustain PSV’s impact, strength, and stability. Each donation — large or small — strengthens PSV's ability to meet the current moment, while laying a foundation for tomorrow's leaders.

Please donate today. Help ensure that PSV remains a healthy home, a place where everyone belongs.

With gratitude,
Lisa Johnson
