Frequently asked questions (from Black College Expo)
What to bring: At least 10 copies of your transcripts because if you are a 12th grader or college transfer student, you can get accepted on the spot. Some colleges will accept 11th graders on the spot!
Should I bring my ACT and SAT scores: Yes, if you have them, however many schools will accept you without ACT/SAT scores. However, for scholarships most colleges would like to see that you have taken either the ACT or SAT.
Are you giving away scholarships: Yes we have an essay contest to win a scholarship, where you write a 500-word or less essay on "Why is a College Education Important to Me". The deadline to enter is two weeks before the expo. Colleges also give scholarships away on-site, and we also give on the Spot Scholarships with our partner SDCOE.
